A visit to Ombaha and Yenga along with the local community revealed that drainage system of Hiti are below the current city drainage system. Thus when drainage of a system gets clogged and undetectable, the Hiti remains unused. Still people come to collect accumulated water.

This is one of the oldest Hitis in Kathmandu valley with lots of ancient monuments submerged due to clogged drainage system of the Hiti. This Hiti is called Yen Ga Hiti (literally mening Hiti of Yen, i.e. Kathmandu). This Hiti has history of more than 1500 years.
